The North Eastern Netball Association (NENA) hosted a Woolworths NetSetGo “Come & Play” day on Saturday, 14 February, welcoming local families to the Scottsdale netball courts for an energetic introduction to the sport. Designed as a chance for newcomers to experience netball before registering for the upcoming season, the session attracted 15 enthusiastic participants aged between 5 and 10, with a few eager siblings jumping in to join the fun. NENA was one of six Associations across Tasmania taking part in the nationwide NetSetGo initiative. Throughout the morning, children learned new games, practiced fresh skills, and gained confidence as they moved through a variety of activities. Laughter and excitement filled the courts as the young players explored the basics of netball in a supportive and upbeat environment. To help keep energy levels high, the Scottsdale Woolworths store generously supplied fresh fruit for the participants to enjoy during short breaks. The session culminated in a modified netball game, giving the children a chance to put their new skills into action. The friendly match was filled with smiles, high fives, and plenty of cheers each time a goal was scored. NENA hopes to see many of these budding players join the courts in 2026 or take part in the full NetSetGo program planned for later this year, continuing to develop their skills and love for the game.
